Label and Packaging Design Specialist Position

Position Summary

The Label & Packaging Design Specialist is responsible for creating, maintaining, and managing all product label artwork across ViaCore's custom and private label product lines.

This role focuses on accuracy, compliance, and organization — ensuring all labels are print-ready, properly versioned, and aligned with production requirements.

This position is ideal for someone who is highly detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where precision is critical and mistakes are costly.

Primary Responsibilities

Label Design & Compliance

  • Design supplement labels in compliance with FDA requirements (Supplement Facts, disclaimers, net contents, etc.)
  • Translate input from Sales, Formulation, and Compliance into accurate, production-ready artwork
  • Ensure all files meet print specifications (CMYK, bleed, dielines, resolution)
  • Revise labels based on formulation updates, regulatory changes, and client feedback
  • Maintain consistent design quality across product lines and formats

Label File Management & Version Control

  • Maintain a centralized, organized system for all label files
  • Ensure all artwork is properly versioned, approved, and stored
  • Prevent outdated or incorrect label versions from being used in production
  • Maintain final, signed-off files in designated systems (shared drives, approval platforms, etc.)

Production Readiness Support

  • Prepare and deliver print-ready files for internal teams or external vendors
  • Verify label specifications align with packaging and production requirements
  • Support internal teams by ensuring labels are accurate and ready ahead of production timelines
  • Assist in reviewing proofs and identifying discrepancies prior to final use

Template Development

  • Build and maintain a library of standardized label templates for private label products
  • Create scalable systems for efficient customization (flavors, branding, SKUs)
  • Develop templates for internal use including product sheets, mockups, and sales materials
  • Improve workflows to increase speed and reduce errors

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Formulation, and Quality teams
  • Support new product onboarding by managing label requirements and updates
  • Communicate timelines, revisions, and potential issues clearly to internal teams
  • Assist with additional design needs as required

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 2–5 years' experience in graphic design, packaging design, or related role
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (required), Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Experience preparing print-ready files for production
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in dietary supplements, food, cosmetics, or other CPG industries
  • Familiarity with FDA labeling requirements
  • Experience working with packaging formats (bottles, tubs, pouches, etc.)
  • Experience with project management tools (Asana, HubSpot, etc.)
  • Experience creating product mockups or renderings
